Introduction for Senator Scott Wagner
Senator Scott Wagner is a lifelong resident of York County, Pennsylvania. Growing up on a farm, Scott learned the value of hard work, self-reliance and risk taking. At age 20, Scott started his first small business and never looked back. Over the last 37 years, he has worked with and led numerous businesses in diverse sectors of the economy helping to improve companies and create economic opportunity.
Scott is the President and owner of York-based Penn Waste, Inc. and KBS Trucking in Thomasville, Pennsylvania. Through his various businesses, he employees over 600 hardworking Pennsylvania's.
In addition to being a small business owner, Scott has been supporting conservative causes and campaigns for the past 30 years. Understanding the important impact that small businesses have on our local communities, Scott began heavily advocating for small business in Harrisburg several years ago.
On March 18, 2014, Scott was elected, by a write in campaign, to fill the 28th Senate Seat in a special election. It is believed to be the first time in the history of the PA legislature, that an elected official won by a write in. Then on November 4, 2014, Scott was elected in the General election to serve a full four-year term in the Pennsylvania State Senate and is currently in his third year of his first full year term.
On January 11th, Senator Scott Wagner officially declared his candidacy for Governor of Pennsylvania.
